This is the rough animatic of Garnet and Pearl’s fusion dance from Coach Steven! It’s got the scratch music track that we animated to: “Freak” by Estelle.
This was a super fun collaboration. I animated Garnet’s dancing and Rebecca Sugar animated Amethyst dancing. We had to synchronize!
Pearl covering Steven’s eyes was done by Raven Molisee and Sugilite appearing was drawn by Paul Villeco.
Animatic editing by Lauren Hecht
Voices by Estelle and Nicki Minaj

A Grim Fandango poster that I worked to death (no pun intended…okay, it was kinda intended, whatever). Had to abandon this one because no matter what I did it just never worked how I wanted it to. I think the initial comp had promise but it all just fell flat after that. C’est la vie.
Maybe one day I’ll revisit this idea. The “sprouted” skulls are pretty cool at least. That’s something.
I gone done made this animation for LoopdeLoop. This month’s theme was Block. I’ll post some process stuff later hopefully.
Music the very talented by Jude Kohn
Eleanor Davis’ comics are among the greatest being made today, and as you can see here, they are many and varied and beautiful. I have followed her work since livejournal days, picked up issues of Mome because she was in them, and have long envied her skills. I love her strong, distinct voice.
How to be Happy is long overdue, but it’s out now, and I picked it up right away.
Useless art. Postal art.
I need some time.
This is amazing. Much love to you, Laura
Good auto-bio comics are very rare and Laura Knetzger is one of the rarest.
Having trouble sleeping again so I finished a doodle of my insufferable household.
Left to right: Me, Finn, Adam, Penny, and Nova.
Playing with the Interstellar Selfie Station demo is maybe my new favourite thing.
Also that other head is Adam - I ain’t no Chimera.
Drew a pic of myself to use as a profile thing and then immediately followed it with one much more accurately representing the past few weeks.
Been in a real slump in general so I decided to start pulling old WIP stuff from my hard drive and finishing them up for practice.
One of the most accurate depictions of these thoughts I’ve ever seen/read.
[deals with some serious junk/depression/probably bad words if that isn’t your jam]
